Requirements 7 and 8

NYS-CRR 30-3.10(b) The training course shall provide training on:

7. use of the statewide instructional reporting system.

8. the scoring methodology utilized by the department and/or the district to evaluate a teacher or principal under this Subpart, including the weightings of each subcomponent within a category; how overall scores/ratings are generated for each subcomponent and category and application and use of the evaluation matrix(es) prescribed by the commissioner for the four designated rating categories used for the teacher's or principal's overall rating and their category ratings.

The PowerPoint above demonstrates my understanding of the processes through which lead evaluators assign groups of students to teachers and gather data for use in performance reviews.  It also compares and contrasts that process, which is required for public and charter schools, to the process used by my Catholic Diocese in our school buildings.  Further, I have participated this year in BEDS reporting, mandated services reporting, SEDDAS assessment procurement, adminstrative duties related to NYS testing and scoring, and many other functions required of lead evaluators in NYS public schools.  Our Diocesan Director of Curriculum and Instruction has been instrumental in helping me acquire the necessary proficiencies in this area.

This practice observation provides further evidence of my knowledge of scoring methodology.
